Marijo Možnik and Mario Vukoja (photo: Croatian Gymnastics Federation)Albufeira, 3 December 2022 - Great news for Croatian gymnastics arrives from the Portuguese city of Albufeira, from the 29th Congress of the European Union of Gymnastics: Marijo Vukoja, Vice President of the Croatian Gymnastics Federation, who has so far served as Vice President of the UEG Technical Committee of men's sports gymnastics, was elected President of the said Technical Committee. Thus, he also became a member of the Executive Board of the continental gymnastics association.
At the Electoral Congress in Portugal, the Croatian Gymnastics Federation had "maximum" success. The President of the Croatian Gymnastics Federation (HGS) Health Commission Dr. Goran Vrgoč was elected to the position of member of the European Union of Gymnastics Medical Commission. Although this was the UEG Electoral Congress, an interesting situation occurred related to the World Gymnastics Federation (FIG). The Slovenian Edvard Kolar was elected Vice President of the European Union of Gymnastics and - given that he is also a member of the World Federation’s Council - he cannot hold both positions. With his withdrawal from the Council, the President of the Croatian Gymnastics Federation Marijo Možnik entered the World Federation’s Council as the FIG elections’ candidate who remained the first "below the line" in terms of the number of votes.
"We are very happy and proud that our work so far has been recognized, and now we will try to raise all this to an even higher level and contribute to the development of gymnastics at the European and world level" reads the message of the Croatian Gymnastics Federation Head Mario Možnik.
