In alpine skiing, the largest Croatian delegation (with three women’s and three men’s quota places), Croatia’s leading athletes are Zrinka Ljutić, Leona Popović and Pia Vučinić on the women’s side, and Samuel Kolega, Istok Rodeš and Filip Zubčić on the men’s side. Croatia will also be represented in Nordic skiing by Tena Hadžić, Ema Sobol and Marko Skender in cross-country skiing, while three biathletes – Matija Legović, Anika Kožica and Krešimir Crnković – will compete in biathlon. Two athletes, Valentina Aščić and Katarina Burić, have secured Olympic qualification in short track speed skating.

More than 2,800 athletes from around 90 countries are expected to take part in the Games. Competitions will be held in 16 sports, including the debut of ski mountaineering and what is expected to be the final appearance of Nordic combined on the Olympic programme. The Opening Ceremony will take place at the San Siro Stadium in Milan on 6 February, while the Closing Ceremony will be held in Verona on 22 February.
