Zvone Mornar, the first Croat with CIFP Diploma of Honor

Zagreb, July 10th, 2015 - One of the most prominent Croatian sports journalist and long-time chief editor, columnist, analyst, commentator and director of the magazine "Sportske novosti" Zvone Mornar, is the first (and so far only) Croat who was presented the Diploma of Honor of the International Fair Play Committee.

Diploma of Honour of the IOC was presented to Zvone Mornar on January 29, 1995 at the ceremony in Stuttgart.

Besides football, Zvone Mornar (1920 - 2008.) was attending many other sports events and reporting from six Olympic Games (in 1960, 1964, 1968, 1972, 1976 and 1980), World Championships in football (in 1954, 1966, 1974 and 1982), gymnastics, table tennis and European Championships in swimming and water polo. During his long journalistic career, Mornar has written nearly 9000 columns, and he was the author or co-author of numerous publications and books that represent an outstanding heritage of the Croatian sports history.
