Hosted by the Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee (COSR) at the Olympic Museum in Bucharest, the meeting focused on the final validation of the PORTAL Platform and preparations for the piloting phase of the project.
Project coordinator representatives provided an overview of the implementation progress, upcoming deliverables, and quality assurance activities. Particular attention was given to the PORTAL Open Platform, which is scheduled for submission at the end of July, while the remaining project outputs will be completed by the end of the project period in October 2026.
Partners also reviewed the implementation of awareness-raising activities aimed at supporting athletes in their transition from sport to professional careers. COSR presented the successful “ChampionsAfterWeek” event, during which the PORTAL Platform was introduced to athletes and Transition Opportunity Providers (TOPs). Experiences and materials from the event will support the organisation of similar activities in Croatia and North Macedonia.
The Croatian Olympic Committee confirmed its intention to organise a national awareness-raising session by the end of June or the beginning of July, contributing to the piloting phase of the project and the testing of the platform among key stakeholders.
A significant part of the meeting was dedicated to the presentation and testing of the PORTAL Platform. Partners reviewed all platform sections, discussed improvements to the mobile version, and agreed on a joint revision process to ensure the quality and functionality of the platform before its official launch. The consortium also discussed future management and sustainability of the platform, including procedures for uploading resources and employment opportunities after the project’s completion.
Dissemination activities and project visibility were also addressed. Partners reviewed ongoing communication efforts, upcoming promotional campaigns, and opportunities to present project results at international events and conferences. The consortium reaffirmed its commitment to promoting the PORTAL initiative and supporting athletes’ career development beyond sport.
The meeting concluded with a discussion on the final project activities and preparations for the last transnational project meeting, which will be hosted in Gijón, Spain, later this year.
