In the 84 kg category, Ivan Kvesić defeated Falleh Midoune of Algeria in the fight for bronze medal, and then Anđelo Kvesić won gold medal in the abovementioned category of 84 kg by beating host’s representative Hocine Daikhi with 2-1 in the finals. On his way to the finals, from which he emerged with a gold medal around his neck, Anđelo Kvesić achieved victory over: Tunisian Houssem Choiya (5-3) in the round-of-16, in quarterfinals Greece's Mikhail Tzanos (4-0) and in semifinals Rijad Džuho (5-0) of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Mediterranean gold is the second brightest medal for Anđelo Kvesić from this year’s big competitions, after winning the title of European Champion in Turkish city of Gaziantep last month.

Croatian Olympian Ivan Kvesić defeated Cyprus' Demetris Demetriades (4-2) in his first fight, Montenegro's Nikola Malović (3-1) in quarterfinals, but lost in the semifinals to Serbia's Vladimir Brezančić (4-0). In women's competition - Lucija Lesjak was defeated in the +68 kg category in the first round, with Serbia's Ivana Perović (1-0) better than her.

With Kvesić brothers' medals in Karate, Croatia currently has three medals (one gold and two bronzes), and the harvest of medal could be continued by the wrestlers, who are facing fights for two bronze medals.
