In her first two appearances in Oran, Puljiz defeated Algerian Faiza Aissahine and Moroccan Soumiya Iraoui. In the finals she had bad luck that the reigning Olympic Champion, who also defeated our national team earlier this year at the Grand Prix finals in Portugal, was her opponent.

Robert Klačar (category up to 66 kg) also had an opportunity to fight for medal. After defeating Portugal's Bernard Fernandes in the first round, he lost to Moroccan Abderrahmane Boushita in the quarterfinals, and continued the competition in repechage. He defeated Cyprus' Georgios Balarjiashvili to return to the fight for medals but failed to reach the podium in the aforementioned fight for bronze. Serbian representative Strahinja Bunčić needed a "waza-ari" halfway through the fight for bronze. Robert Klačar finished his performance in Oran in fifth place.
