In the bronze medal match, Kamenjašević defeated Italy's Ciro Russ 3-1. Another one of our representatives in the fight for bronze, Ivan Lizatović, failed to reach the medal in the 60kg category. Egypt's Haythem Mahmoud was better than him (3-0).
Croatian male volleyball players continued their performance at the Mediterranean Games in a winning rhythm. In the second round, they defeated Serbia's representatives with 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 30-28). The former Kaštela duo - Filip Šestan (24 points) and Petar Đirlić (17 points), who were also the most effective players of the winning team, worked very well in our very mood.
Our national boules team was also quite successful - Marino Milićević made it to semifinals of individual competition in Progressive throw (unfortunately, Pero Ćubela failed in this ambition), while Ria Vojković and Carrolina Bajrić will compete in semifinals in Women's singles competition in Progressive throw as well.
Our boxer Damir Plantić was defeated in the Round-of-16 of the Light Middleweight category (81 kg) by the Egyptian Abdelrahman Abdelgawwad. The referee's decision was 3-0 in Egyptian’s favor.
On Tuesday 28 June, the Croatian athletes will compete in venues in six sports - Badminton, Bowling, Boxing, Gymnastics, Sailing and Volleyball. Concerning Volleyball and Gymnastics, our hopes in both competitions - Croatia - Serbia (female volleyball players) and Croatia - Tunisia (male volleyball players) will also compete. New medals are expected in Gymnastics finals in apparatus events...
