Marković opened the final day with a shot of 59.01 followed by his best strikeout and score. In the following two throws, he had two faulty shots and two almost identical distances, 60.96 and 60.97 meters. His shot in the second series of 62.49 meters secured him second place behind the winner, Cypriot Apostolos Parellis, who celebrated with a shot of 63.59 meters. Third place went to Montenegro's representative Danijel Furtula with a score of 61.74m.
Swimmer Mario Šurković finished eighth in the finals of Men’s 200m Individual Medley. In qualifying, he had the worst time of all the finalists, and equally bad, the eighth, in the final race. He swam 2:04.10. Gold medal was shared by Algeria's Jaouad Syoud and Greece's Andreas Vazaios, who swam 200m in identical time of 1:58.83. Bronze medal went to Italy's Pier Andrea Matteazzi with a time of 2:00.24. Šurković ranked eighth in Men’s 100m Freestyle finals as well, where he swam 50.61.
Sunday's medal harvest at the Games in Oran finished with silver in Athletics, and Croatia ranked 13th in the country rankings with a total of nineteen medals.
