PORTAL is a 24-month Erasmus+ Sport project aimed at supporting Olympians in their transition from elite sport to post-retirement life. Its activities focus particularly on mental health, dual careers, employability, social inclusion and the development of an online support platform, complemented by a network of Real Life Transition Officers. The Croatian Olympic Committee participates in the project as one of the consortium partners.
During the meeting, partners reviewed the project’s publications and impact, the results of the pilot activities and the TOPs online course, as well as the latest developments of the PORTAL online platform. Particular attention was also given to dissemination activities, project impact and preparations for the final project report.
The programme also included a multiplier sport event in Oviedo, while the second day was dedicated to practical training on the use of the PORTAL platform, providing partners with additional guidance for its future application and sustainability.
The meeting in Gijón represented an important final step in the implementation of PORTAL, offering partners an opportunity to assess the results achieved throughout the project and discuss how its tools and resources can continue to support athletes beyond the formal project period. The PORTAL project runs until 31 October 2026.
