The start and finish were located near the Landing Steps, and Dina completed the route in 17 hours and 13 minutes.

“I have become the first person in history to swim this route. It was both mentally and physically demanding. I knew what to expect, but it was even harder than anticipated due to the waves that followed me the entire way, the sea currents, and swimming at night. The local support team could not have been better, and the locals gave me a heartfelt send-off at both the start and the finish, for which I am very grateful,” said Levačić after yet another remarkable achievement.

The next challenge for the Croatian open water swimmer takes her to Bolivia, where she plans a 16 km swim in Lake Titicaca, at an altitude of 3,812 metres, with a water temperature of around 15°C.

“The biggest challenge is the altitude. It will be a solo swim and, if everything goes according to plan, I will be only the second woman to complete it,” Levačić added. (h/hoo/vk)
