Zagreb, January 8, 2018 - The 9th IOC International Athletes' Forum, i.e. - the meeting of representatives of the NOC Athletes’ Commissions from around the world will be held in Lausanne from April 13 to 15, 2019. The organizer is the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the main topic of the Forum will be the exchange of experiences and preparatory activities for the implementation of the IOC Athletes’ Commission Work Strategy, adopted last year.
Through the Olympic Agenda 2020, the IOC has undertaken significant steps for strenghtening the support for athletes and Forum gathering of this kind represents the opportunity to hear their standpoints. The Athletes' Rights and Responsibility Declaration, officially accepted at the IOC's October meeting in Buenos Aires, will also be presented to the representatives of the NOC Athletes' Commissions. Of course, with the goal to have it implemented in their activities soon as possible.
Croatia will also participate for the first time at the 9th IOC International Athletes’ Forum. Our female and male athletes will be represented at this event by the Olympic cross-country skier Vedrana Malec, as per electronic voting of members of the Croatian NOC Athletes’ Commission. (coc/vk)
