Zagreb, June 23, 2018 – On June 23, the Croatian Olympic Family celebrated the International Olympic Day, which celebrates this year its 70th anniversary, through a series of sports matches and events throughout Croatia.

In an appropriate, but truly spirited way, this Day that bears the message: Move, Learn and Discover, was marked with numerous activities during May and June, especially by sports school and training members such as the Universal Sports School of the Croatian School Sports Federation, Zagreb training program at the sports recreation center Šalata and numerous destinations in other Croatian cities whose sports associations and communities.

Promotions of the value of the Olympic Movement and sports as a social discipline that has all the prerequisites for building peace and rich national and international cooperation were dedicated to the celebration of this Day. Under the motto United By, the Croatian Olympic Family, led by the Croatian Olympic Committee and the Croatian Olympic Academy, sent today an invitation, which is also a congratulation, to accept the Olympic Day as a choice of values in everyday life and sports.
The first Olympic Day was celebrated on June 23, 1948 and the National Olympic Committees of Austria, Belgium, Canada, Great Britain, Greece, Portugal, Switzerland, Uruguay and Venezuela participated in the celebration. (COC)
