Zagreb, 2 December 2020 – During 2019 and 2020, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) conducted an extensive research on gender equality in sports. In the published report on results of the survey (Gender Equality Survey Results) and report on examples of good practice from the National Olympic Committees (Good Practice Examples from NOC), the Croatian Olympic Committee (COC) that operates in this field through the work of the Gender Equality in Sport Commission, was highlighted as one of the examples of good practice.

In the field of comprehensive media analysis, the Croatian Olympic Committee was highlighted as the only example of good practice, stating that it conducted, in cooperation with the Agency for Electronic Media and Office for Gender Equality of the Government of the Republic of Croatia, a survey on representation of women’s sports in the media, after which  the campaign "For better visibility of women's sport in the electronic media" was launched, which  resulted in videos broadcasted on Croatian TV Programs:

The website Women and Media was launched as a place for informing the public about different aspects of women in society, with Croatian Olympic Committee as one of the partners.

The Croatian Olympic Committee also promotes fair and balanced ratio of female and male athletes through the news service Sports Croatia and through its own Sports Television, where women 's sports make 47 percent of the program.

President of the Croatian Olympic Committee’s Gender Equality in Sport Commission Morana Paliković Gruden emphasized the satisfaction with this International Olympic Committee’s recognition for long-time dedicated work of the Commission and the Croatian Olympic Committee and announced the continuation of cooperation with the Agency for Electronic Media and the Office for Gender Equality of the Government of the Republic of Croatia in realization of the project "Female Voices in Sports". As part of this project, the activities of the Croatian Olympic Committee in the field of gender equality in sports and media will be further deepened, in which the Croatian Olympic Committee is highlighted as leader within the Olympic movement.

Paliković Gruden stressed in particular the IOC President Thomas Bach's recommendation on target minimum percentage of 30% of women's representation in management positions in sports of all members of the Olympic movement by 2020 and announced intensive action towards achieving this goal. (COC/GB)
