Zagreb, 4 March 2021 - At a commemorative press conference at the plateau of the Dom sportova (House of Sports) in Zagreb, the Croatian Olympic Committee (HOO) presented the cooperation with the reputable insurance and asset management company - Allianz Croatia, and the cooperation was agreed for eight years.

Following the global partnership with the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), ongoing since 2006, Allianz has also become the global partner of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) since the beginning of 2021 and is determined to support athletes, teams, volunteers and fans who are part of the Olympic and Paralympic movements at local level as well.

- Allianz has been preparing for this extremely exciting partnership for two years and the opportunity to integrate Olympic and Paralympic activities at the local level. As sponsor of the sports ecosystem, we look forward to encouraging the citizens – through inspirational stories – to get involved in physical activity and at the same time provide services and care for athletes, their families and ambitions – said Allianz Croatia CEO Daniel Matić.

President of the NOC of Croatia Zlatko Mateša explained the importance of this partnership not only for the national Olympic association, but also much wider:

- As a globally successful company, Allianz has already shown its commitment to sports, both at the level of Croatia and in the world. We are extremely pleased with the partnership between Allianz Croatia and the Croatian Olympic Committee, which will be of added value for Croatian sports as a whole. We are proud of this cooperation and look forward to future projects for the benefit of sports, but also of the entire community...

Allianz Croatia and the Croatian Paralympic Committee started their partnership in 2011 and through ten years of cooperation and numerous projects they addressed the current social problems, brought the challenges of Paralympic athletes closer to the public and created preconditions for a more equal and tolerant society.

- In the past ten years we have seen positive developments in the sport of people with disabilities and the status of our Paralympic athletes, however, we have not yet reached the desired and necessary inclusion. This was recognized by Allianz, to whom I thank for this intensive and successful ten-year cooperation and I look forward to years and projects ahead of us - said the President of the Croatian Paralympic Committee Ratko Kovačić.

Rowing Olympian Damir Martin and table tennis Paralympic athlete Anđela Mužinić also participated in the press conference, expressing hope for this summer's Olympic and Paralympic Games in Tokyo. Speaking of preparations for the Olympics, i.e., Paralympics, they did not hide their optimism concerning the successful performances at the Games.
