The Croatian Olympic Committee marketing is based on the fact that, thanks to top achievements of its athletes, Croatian sport is one of the best Croatian products. However, it is also a fact that only excellent work organization, introduction of new expertise and application of scientific achievements can help develop and sustain top sports results. It all requires a stable financial basis of Croatian sport and the Croatian Olympic Committee as the highest national sports body, the obligation of which is to provide the conditions for unhindered development of sport and the Olympic movement in Croatia. In accordance with the COC Marketing Development Strategy adopted in 2007, activities have been undertaken to enhance the income, before all by seeking partners among Croatian and foreign business organizations ready to support projects involving top Croatian athletes.

 

Starting from the fact that most prominent business organizations, which are potentially sponsors of the highest category, have already joined the COC marketing program either as general or gold sponsors, or by joining the marketing Croatian Olympic family. The Croatian Olympic Committee has recently also started turning to smaller companies with less funds for marketing but ready for cooperation. It is encouraging that companies, which have so far not been present in sport in this way, such as those coming from petrochemical industry and some areas of healthcare, are showing interest to support Croatian athletes. Bearing in mind the experiences and excellent results in the organization of the Croatian House at the Olympic Games in Athens, Turin and Beijing, in cooperation with the Croatian Chamber of Commerce and Croatian Tourist Board, Croatian Telecom and some other organizations, one can see that significant steps were made in economic and sports relations between Croatia and host countries.
