Zagreb, 7 September 2020 - The best Croatian young rowers Patrik and Anton Lončarić achieved another valuable result. At the junior European Rowing Championships in Duisburg (Germany), they won a silver medal in Coxless Pairs. Members of Osijek's rowing club Iktus, they are the only Croatian crew that reached the A finals, in which only the (slightly older) Romanians were faster than them.

In the junior age, the Lončarić brothers also reached the world throne, and for great results in 2018, they were presented the Croatian Olympic Committee’s award Dražen Petrović in the category of the Most Successful Sports Pair, Relay or Crew.

The President of the Croatian Olympic Committee (COC) Zlatko Mateša and the Secretary General Josip Čop congratulated the Lončarić brothers on winning the European Junior Silver:

Dear Anton and Patrik,

with the new European medal, you confirm your inexhaustible talent even in these difficult times for rowing and sports in general. Let the most trophy-winning Croatian rowing brothers so far, Martin and Valent Sinković - whose trail your excellent fraternal duo is sailing on - be your permanent inspiration. On behalf of the Croatian Olympic Family and on our own behalf, we congratulate you on winning a medal and maintaining the trophy tradition of the Croatian rowing! (COC/VK)
