Zagreb, 5 December 2020 - Croatia's best skier Filip Zubčić excelled again in the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup. As our only representative in Saturday's Giant Slalom in Italian city of Santa Caterina, he celebrated the victory (2:15.06) after an excellent second run and previously achieved solid sixth place in the first run.

This is Zubčić's best result of the season and the second giant slalom triumph of his career. Slovenia's Žan Kranjec (2:15.18), who was leading after the first run, took the second place and Switzerland's Marco Odermatt (2:15.36) the third. In Santa Caterina, which has taken over the organization of two Giant Slaloms from France's Val d'Isere, one more race will take place.

The Croatian Olympic Committee (COC) congratulates Filip Zubčić on his second giant slalom victory in the World Cup competition and wishes him a lot of success in the continuation of the season. Besides good health, the Croatian Olympic Committee wishes him additional profiling into Croatia's greatest medalist at the Winter Olympics in Beijing in 2022. (COC/VK)
