Zagreb, February 22nd, 2020 - After January's silver in Adelboden, Croatia's top skier Filip Zubčić created a new major venture by winning the frst place in Giant Slalom in Japan's Yuzawa Naebi.

Zubčić thus achieved his first victory at the World Cup competitions, and this triumph also has a historical dimension - he became the first Croat to win in Giant Slalom at the World Cup and the first Croatian skier to triumph at the World Cup after seven years (before Zubčić, the last such winner was Ivica Kostelić). After the first run, Zubčić was 12th, and in an excellent second run he showed all his qualities. The second was Switzerland's Marc Odermatt and the third - American Tommy Ford.
