Zagreb, 6 September 2021 - Croatian sailor Enrico Marotti won the title of IFCA World Champion in Windsurfing title in the Slalom event at the IFCA Slalom World Championships held on the Greek island of Paros. For Marotti, it is the second world title in the event.


After 10 races, Marotti celebrated with six negative points, silver was won by Dutchman Jordy Vonk with 19 points, while the bronze Frenchman Basile Jacquin collected 19 negative points.

- I'm very happy with how I did the whole regatta. I was able to sail constantly and with quality, which I am very proud of. I'm happy I was able to win the World Championships again in such a big competition. I'd like to thank all the people who followed me, my friends, my family, and my girlfriend. This support means a lot to me, and I am immensely grateful for it. Big thanks to my physiotherapist Marin Poloni and psychologist Nenad Karabaić who helped me prepare the entire season, especially this regatta, said Marotti.

In 2019, this Opatija native was awarded the Annual State Award for Sport Franjo Bučar for the first title of World Champion in Windsurfing.
