Zagreb, 13 June 2021 - Four new valuable medals for Croatian gymnastics! At the brilliantly organized FIG World Challenge Cup in Osijek's City Garden Hall, the Croatian representatives shone in full glory.

In Saturday's part of the final program, our best artistic gymnast in Floor exercise Aurel Benović won the first medal at the prestigious competition in his city. For the silver medal, Benović completed his performance with a score of 14,133 points, with only Kazakhstan's Milad Karimi (14,866 points) better than him, while bronze went to Britain's Hayden Skinner (14,066 points).
In the remaining two Saturday’s final performances of our representatives, Tijana Korent remained one step away from the medal with fourth place in Vaulting Table, and the experienced Filip Ude finished his performance in Osijek by placing 6th in Pommel Horse, after a very good performance and a moment of distraction when jumping.

Sunday's finals brought Croatia's gymnastics three more medals, thanks to the brilliant performances of our aces for Tokyo - Ana Đerek and Tin Srbić, increasing thus the collection of Croatian medals in 12 Osijek editions of the FIG World Challenge Cup to a total of 34. Ana Đerek won bronze in the Balance Beam exercise and then – with her brilliant performance – gold in Women’s Floor exercise, while Tin Srbić thrilled everyone with his performance in Men’s High Bar - worthy of a new World Cup gold medal - and his third triumph (after 2017 and 2018) in Osijek. Young Christina Zwicker once again confirmed her great potential - with a very impressive final exercise in the Balance Beam discipline, she also came closer to the winning pedestal - which could be a frequent habit for her in the future.

The Croatian Olympic Committee (NOC of Croatia) congratulates Ana Đerek, Tin Srbić and Aurel Benović on winning medals, as well as our other gymnasts for their highly competitive performances in Osijek. Congratulations to the Croatian Gymnastics Federation, hosts Osijek and their partners for repeated top organization of this year's edition of the World Cup!
