Zagreb, 20 December 2020 - After male gymnasts’ performance last weekend, the best Croatian female gymnasts also participated in junior and senior competition at the European Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Turkey's Mersin.

Historical success of the Croatian National Gymnastics Female Team (Ana Đerek, Tijana Korent, Christina Zwicker, Tina Zelčić and Petra Furač)- 6th place in team competition, numerous notable individual performances and Ana Đevrek’s title of the most elegant gymnast were additionally adorned by one won medal.

Sara Šulekić, 15-year-old member of the National Junior Gymnastics Team, won the title of the European Vice Junior Champion in Uneven Bars, the first Croatian sports gymnastics’ medal in the history of the European Championships. Croatia's second representative in the finals of the same discipline, Nika Kukuljan Frleta, finished sixth. In European Championships Sunday’s program Sara Šulekić performed in three finals, where she took the sixth place in Vault and 8th place in Floor, while Antea Ercegović took the seventh place in Vault.

The Croatian double finalist Christina Zwicker achieved a historic success in individual senior competition - sixth place in Uneven Bars and seventh place in Balance Beam. The very notable performance of Croatian female gymnasts at the 33rd European Women’s Artistic Championships was round up by Tijana Korent who won the eighth place in the Vault finals.
