Berlin, August 11, 2018 - At the European Athletics Championship in Berlin, Sandra Perković (28), the World's Best Discus Thrower, won a gold medal. The double golden Croatian Olympian (London 2012 and Rio 2016) has been invincible at continental competitions since 2010.

Thus she became the first in history, including male competition, with five consecutive titles of European Champion in the same individual discipline.
Sandra scored the winning 67.62-meter throw in the fifth round, while in the first four she was searching for her ideal throw. The first and fourth throwing attempts ended in the protective net, and between the said two she threw 59.09 meters, followed by 59.97 meters.

Leading up to the fifth round, the German Nadine Müller eventually won silver with a score of 63.00 meters and her fellow Shanice Craft (62.46 meters) took a bronze medal. (coc/vk)
