Zagreb, 7 July 2021 - Cyclist Josip Rumac will represent Croatia at the Tokyo Olympics as the 59th evident Olympic candidate. Although the list seemed to be concluded on Monday with athletes Marija Tolj and Ana Šimić, there was still a new shift in the cycling rankings, which brought Croatia its 59th hope for Tokyo.

Josip Rumac is an exceptionally gifted professional Croatian cyclist, permanently settled in Ičići. He was born on 26 October 1994 in Rijeka and can boast with numerous achievements in his career so far, including two solid performances at the legendary Italian Giro. He achieved the highest score in the junior competition, winning bronze in 2012 at the World Cycling Championships. He is a member of the Italian team Androni Giocattoli - Sidermec.
