At the Mediterranian Games’ Opening Ceremony, the Croatian flag was carried by Josip Glasnović, golden Olympian from Rio de Janeiro, and thirty athletes (and members of the HOO Mission) attended the event.

From June 22 to July 1 in Tarragona there will be 3622 female and male athletes competing for medals in 33 sports and sports disciplines, including 99 with Croatian coat of arms on their sports equipment (67 + 32).

June 22 was also the first day of competing, and for Our beautiful (country) the"ice was broken" by the archers - Matija Mihalić and Alen Remar. According to the coach Nenad Mihalić, despite the somewhat stronger wind, the first day was very solid. The archers will continue their qualifying path on Saturday, and they will be joined by our team members in eight more sports: Bowls, Kayak, Karate, Volleyball (Men and Women), Swimming, Handball (on Friday, Halil Jaganjac got a cake for his 20th birthday!), shooting and triathlon.
