Zagreb, October 1, 2018 – At the Olympic Games in Buenos Aires (October 6 - 18, 2018), Croatia will be represented by 36 female and male athletes in 10 sports disciplines. This is the final figure of our participants after the sports climber Jani Zoraj was forced to give up on performance for health reasons.


Our Olympic hopes, aged 14-18 are: Ana Brkljačić (Athletics), Hermana Dermiček (Weightlifting), Palma Čargo and Martin Dolenc (Sailing), Ana Viktorija Puljiz (Judo), Nika Čulina, Lucija Šulenta, Dominik Karačić Ognjen Marić (Swimming), Andrea Pavlović (Table Tennis), Marijana Matea Štrbac (Shooting), Lucija Domić, Lena Stojković and Josip Tesker (Taekwondo), Aria Cvitanović, Izabela Krakić, Anton and Patrik Lončarić (Rowing). Croatian colors will be defended by two National Olympic Beach Handball Teams – the male team (Tin Brzica, Mateo Budić, Ivan Antonio Hančić, Borna Kolić, Marko Marunčić, Krešimir Obratov, Ivan Palac, Marko Pranjić and Bruno Sudarević) and the female team (Rea Banić, Mia Bošnjak, Petra Lovrenčević, Anja Vida Lukšić, Ana Malec, Vanja Perenčević, Saša Sladić, Mia Tupek and Nika Vojnović).
The Croatian Olympic delegation counts a total of 58 members. We also have - for the first time in an Olympic competition - a representative in the category "Young Change Maker" (formerly Sports Ambassador) - Osijek native Marija Lozančić, and a young journalist in IOC's media education, Rijeka native Filip Ožbolt.
Taekwondoka Lucija Domić will bear the Croatian flag at the Opening Ceremony of the Games, which will take place - for the first time in the history of the Olympism - at the city square and not at the stadium.

The largest group of Croatian male and female athletes and members of the delegation travels to Argentina on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, flying via Paris at 3.15 p.m.. The gathering at the Franjo Tuđman Airport is scheduled for 1 p.m. (COC/vk)
