Zagreb, October 18, 2018 - After the logistic preparation, the Center for Sports Rights - established by the Resolution of the Croatian Olympic Committee’s Council No. 900/17 from November 7th, 2017, as a separate work unit of the Croatian Olympic Committee – commenced its activities. The Center's activities encompass already existing procedures for resolving disputes in sports through independent bodies such as the Sports Arbitration Council, Sports Arbitration Tribunal, Disciplinary Commission of the Croatian Olympic Committee and Ethics Committee, with the additional activity of scientific research and training through the organization of workshops, seminaries and round tables on the topic of legal relations in sports.
In carrying out these activities, the Center will closely cooperate with domestic and international institutions and experts of related interest and report on all its actions on the Croatian Olympic Committee’s website.
- The Center will also serve as a place for obtaining information and guidance on available means of legal protection and clarifying the procedures to all the interested persons, it will bring together people interested in exploring legal relations in sports and sports law, along with organization of workshops and seminaries and engaging in exploration and publishing of the performed research. Particularly important will be the cooperation with domestic and foreign bodies and experts aimed at mutual sharing of knowledge and experience - explained the Secretary of the COC’s Center for Sports Rights Petra Pocrnić Perica.
Work with the parties is scheduled on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays according to the previously agreed terms. (COC)
