Zagreb, October 12, 2017 - The International Olympic Committee’s Olympic Solidarity has positively resolved the Croatian Olympic Committee’s candidacies and granted twelve scholarships to Croatian male and female athletes as aid in preparations, qualifications and participation in the Games of the XXXII Olympiad in Tokyo in 2020.

The list of the beneficiaries of Olympic Solidarity Program named "Olympic scholarships for athletes - Tokyo 2020" includes: athlete Sara Kolak (javelin), Sandra Perković (discus) and Blanka Vlašić (high jump), boxer Filip Hrgović (category +91 kg), sailors Šime Fantela and Igor Marenić (class 470) and Tonči Stipanović (laser), shooter Josip Glasnović (trap), taekwondoka Iva Radoš (category -73 kg), rowers Damir Martin (single scull), Martin and Valent Sinković (coxless pair).

The monthly Olympic scholarship of US$ 500 will be granted to all the individual medal winners at the Rio Olympics 2016, the most successful Games for Croatian athletes, as well as to the members of two "gold" crews. Our trophy winner Iva Radoš, double European champion and bronze medalist at the World Championships and European Games in 2015 is also the beneficiary of the Olympic scholarship program until Tokyo 2020.
The International Olympic Committee’s Olympic Solidarity will pay scholarships to the Croatian Olympic Committee’s account for a period of four months (US$ 2000 per athlete) starting from September 1, 2017 to August 31, 2020 or to the date of the last qualifying competition for athletes who did not manage to qualify for performance at the Tokyo Olympics.
