The Croatian Fair Play Committee

 

The Croatian Fair Play Committee was founded following the decision of the Croatian Olympic Committee Council on 10 May 2006 at the proposal of COC President Zlatko Matesa.

Its members, 11 prominent Croatian sporting figures and COC Council members and four Croatian media representatives, were appointed in September 2007. Biserka Perman, top athlete and Council member, was appointed Chairwoman of the Croatian Fair Play Committee.

Its tasks are systematic promotion of the values of fair play based on the principles of tolerance and mutual respect in all forms of sport and contribution to its progress in accordance with the rules of the International and European Fair Play Committees.

Brussels, November 24, 2018 - At the two-day 24th Congress and General Assembly of the European Fair Play Movement (EFPM) in Brussels, the representatives of national fair play committees considered the activities of the Association at the end of the year. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of EFPM Head Christian Hinterberger, attended by Croatian representatives - EFPM Executive Committee’s member Biserka Vrbek and Croatian Fair Play Committee (HFPO) Danira Bilić – active participants in its work.

Zagreb/Budimpešta, 5th of February 2014 - Hana Dragojevic, a young sailor from the Split-based Sailing Club "Labud" was awarded the IOC President's Youth Prize for the year 2013. Hana, student of the seventh grade of elementary school, saved at the sailing regatta for younger cadets the boy Marko Smolic, whose boat capsized, leaving him entangled in the lines in the position from which he could not free himself.

Verona, 28 November 2012 - The Olympian Biserka Vrbek (Los Angeles Olympics 1984) and sports official, since 2007 Assistant to the Secretary General of the Croatian Olympic Committee, was elected member of the Executive Board of the European Fair Play Movement (EFPM) on EFPM's Electoral Assembly held on October 27th 2012 in Verona.

Under the auspices of the Croatian President Ivo Josipovic, Ministry of Science, Education and Sports, European Olympic Committees (EOC) and International Council for Sports Science and Physical Education (ICSSPE), under the leadership of the President of European Fair Play Movement Calos Goncelvesa, the 17th European Fair Play Congress and General Assembly of the European Fair Play Movement (EFPM), hosted by the Croatian Olympic Committee, Croatian Fair Play Committee (HFPO) and the city of Porec, member of the Croatian Olympic marketing family, was held in Porec from 28th to 30th of September.

The delegation of the Croatian Olympic Committee (COC), headed by President Zlatko Matesa, attended on March18th, 2011 an official reception held by the Croatian president Ivo Josipovic, during which they introduced him to current preparations for the organization of the 17th European Fair Play Congress, which will, under patronage of the President of the Republic of Croatia, be held from September 28th to October 1st in Porec.
