Zagreb, March 10th, 2020 - The International Olympic Academy (IOA) plans to implement several educational programs open to candidates from all countries this year as well. After the completed competitions of the Croatian Olympic Academy (COA), Croatian representatives were selected. At the 60th International Youth Symposium with this year's main topic of the symposium "Olympism and Humanism" and special topic "Olympic Games: Human Rights, Diversity and Inclusion in Sports", the Croatian candidate is Marija Leskovec.

At the 27th International Seminary on Olympics for postgraduate students, with the seminar topic"Olympic Games and the Olympic Movement: Past, Present and Future - Analysis from a Historical, Philosophical and Social Perspective" and this year's special topic "Great Sports Events and Human Rights", the Croatian candidate is Petra Jurić, PhD student at the Faculty of Kinesiology, University of Zagreb.

In relation to the epidemiological situation in the world, the Croatian Olympic Academy has today received a notification from the International Olympic Academy about the possible failure to maintain the educational programs due to recent developments in the outbreak of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and all the implications involved globally. The International Olympic Academy should make its final decision by the end of March 2020,notifying all national Olympic academies. Also, the Croatian Olympic Academy has received an instruction from the Ministry of Science and Education to postpone organized trips abroad due to the current epidemiological situation in the world.
