Twenty years ago, the sculpture made in honor of Dražen Petrović, the great Croatian and European basketball, was erected in the park of the Olympic Museum in Lausanne. On the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of erecting the sculpture, Croatian Olympic Committee has marked this event, important for both the international and the Croatian Olympic family, by opening the exhibition in the Museum-Memorial Center Dražen Petrović in Zagreb and by sending its delegations to Lausanne.

In the Museum-Memorial Center Dražen Petrović, there were 15 posters exhibited under the name "Legend in white marble" - reminders of monument erection in the park of the Olympic Museum. Besides Dražen, this park hosts only the monuments of the founder of modern Olympic movement Baron Pierre de Coubertin, Finnish athlete Paavo Nurmi and Czech long-distance runner Emil Zatopek. The visitors of the Center could also see a special movie made by Antun Vrdoljak, on all the phases in creation of the monument until its placing in 1995. Besides Dražen's mother Biserka, the opening of the exhibition in Zagreb was attended by the President of the Croatian Olympic Committee Zlatko Mateša, Minister of Science, Education and Sports Vedran Mornar, his Assistant for Sports Tomislav Paškvalin, the Mayor of Zagreb, Milan Bandić, Olympians Danira Nakić Bilić, Nika Fleiss and Gordan Kožulj and many other admirers of Dražen Petrović.
Twenty years ago, on April 29, 1995, the first Croatian President Franjo Tuđman unveiled the monument made in honor of this notable of Croatian basketball, in the presence of high-ranked delegation of the IOC and its president Juan Antonio Samaranch, members of the Council of the Croatian Olympic Committee and its President Antun Vrdoljak, as well as numerous guests from the sports, political, cultural and economic life of the Republic of Croatia.
In memory of this great Croatian and world basketball player, whom the world sports has lost due to a tragic and untimely death, the delegation of the Croatian Olympic Committee (President Zlatko Mateša, Vice-President of the Croatian Olympians Club, athletes' representative Danira Bilić and Dražen's mother Biserka Petrović) along with their hosts, the Representative of the IOC's President Thomas Bach Ms. Pamela Vipond, Assistant Director of Olympic Solidarity and Director of the Olympic Museum Francis Gabet, laid flowers before the monument in the park of the Olympic Museum.
