Shooting is present at the Olympics since the very beginning of modern Olympic Games – the Olympic Games in Athens in 1896.
The first Croatian shooters participating at the Olympics were Rudolf Vuk, Zlatko Mašek and Stjepan Prauhardt (Helsinki Olympics 1952)
The first Croatian medals, gold and silver one, have been won by Jasna Šekarić at the Olympic Games in Seoul in 1988.
Snježana Pejčić is the winner of the first Olympic medal, a bronze one, won under the Croatian flag (Beijing Olympics 2008).
Giovanni Cernogoraz is the winner of the gold Olympic medal (London Olympics 2012)
