Boxing made its Olympic debut at the Olympic Games in St. Louis in 1904. The first Croatian boxer participating at the Olympics was Tomislav Krizmanić (Helsinki Olympics 1952)

The first Croatian medal, the gold one, has been won by Mate Parlov at the Olympic Games in Munich in 1972.
The winners of Olympic medals in boxing are Mirko Puzović (bronze medal at the Los Angeles Olympics 1984) and Damir Škaro (bronze medal at the Seoul Olympics 1988).
