Zagreb, October 30, 2017 - Following the competition for two Croatian representatives in the European selection of young reporters, participants of IOC’s media training during the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) in Buenos Aires in 2018, the four-member board of the Croatian Olympic Committee and the Croatian Association of Sports Journalists (HZSN) has decided that our Our Beautiful Homeland will be represented by Simona Margetić from Koprivnički Bregi and Filip Ožbolt from Rijeka.


The board comprising of Radica Jurkin, the President, and Vinko Knežević (Croatian Olympic Committee), Jura Ozmec i Robert Šalinović (HZSN), faced with a difficult task to select the representatives among 28 candidates, of which 19 females and 9 males, coming from almost all regions of Croatia.


From the continental election at the headquarters of the European Olympic Committee in Rome, where the candidacies of our two journalistic mainstays were sent to, four young journalists (2 + 2) will travel to Youth Olympic Games (YOG) in Buenos Aires (6 - 18 October 2018), and the deadline for announcement is November 15, 2017. The International Olympic Committee (IOC), which will finance the transportation, accommodation and training costs of 30 young reporters during the YOG from the Olympic Solidarity Program, will publish a final list of participants on December 12th.
