Zagreb, February 29, 2016 – At the occasional ceremony held on February 29 at the Journalists' Home in Zagreb, the Croatian Sports Journalists Association (HZSN) declared the best journalists, publicists and media assistants within their own profession. At the ceremony, a special award for cooperation with the media was presented to the winner of silver Olympic medal and one of the greatest Croatian Olympians, the skier Ivica Kostelić.


The most productive Croatian writer of books on sports topics Jurica Gizdić received the annual award for publishing of the book "Croatian athletes at the Olympic Games", published by the Croatian Olympic Committee. The Journalist of the Year Award went to Branko Stipković from Sports News. Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to the television commentator Mićo Dušanović, the Award for Television Reportage went to Milan Stjelja from Nova TV, while Marko Cvijanovic from Novi list received the recognition for Newspaper Interview. Anton Filić from Večernji list received the Newspaper Reportage Award.

HZSN's Special recognition was presented to Miroslav Tomašević for the book "Dinamo - history and the golden decade," while the HZSN's Section Zadar was awarded as well for their humanitarian and social role in the community. The Award for the Best Press-Center in 2015 went to the organizers of the basketball tournament Dogus in Zadar, and the weekly Max was awarded as well.
