Zagreb, May 22, 2017 – At a suggestion of the Athletes' Commission, the Croatian Olympic Committee (HOO) nominated Ivica Kostelić, four-time winner of Olympic silver in Alpine Skiing, for member of the International Olympic Committee's (IOC) Athlete's Commission.


Two new members of the IOC’s Athletes’ Commission, selected from the ranks of the Winter Olympics representatives, will be elected by the athletes – participants at the Winter Olympic Games (ZOI) in Pyongyang in February 2018. The athletes elected to the Commission will also become the members of the International Olympic Committee for a term of four years.

Strong support to Kostelić's candidacy was also given by the Croatian Olympic Committee’s International Relations Commission led by the President, triple Olympian and holder of the Olympic in Rowing, Igor Boraska.
