ZAGREB/LAKE PLACID, 22 December 2009 – After the American tour and seven races in the America Cup, Croatia's bobsleigh team qualified for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver (12-28 February 2010).

ZAGREB/LAKE PLACID, 22 December 2009 – After the American tour and seven races in the America Cup, Croatia's bobsleigh team qualified for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver (12-28 February 2010).
The four-man bobsleigh team of Ivan Sola, Slaven Krajacic, Mate Mezulic, Igor Maric and Andras Haklits went to the USA to attain the Olympic standard. They are currently in the 27th place and are among 30 teams entitled to participate in the Olympic Winter Games.
According to the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games qualification system, 30 four-man bobsleigh teams qualify for the Olympic Games based on the FIBT ranking in the 2009/2010 season and the quotas are distributed in the following way: 3 countries can send 3 crews, 7 countries can send 2 crews and 7 can send 1 crew each.
The qualification competitions are the World Cup, Europe Cup and America Cup. Croatia's team was entitled to participate in the Europe Cup and America Cup; 7 best results in the 2009/2010 season are taken into account for the FIBT ranking.
