On this occasion, the COC, headed by its president Zlatko Matesa, on February 8th, 2012 organized the celebration in Zagreb.

The Croatian Olympic delegation included: Zeljka and Tomislav Cizmesija (figure skating), Vedran Pavlek (alpine skiing), Sinisa Vukonic (cross country), coaches Ozren Mueller, Mladen Mumelas and Darko Stimac, physician Ivan Drinkovic and head of the mission (until today the only woman on that position) - Sanda Dubravcic Simunjak, double Olympian (Lake Placid Winter Olympics 1980 and Sarajevo 1984).

The Olympics were then reported by sports journalists: Bozo Susec, Mico Dusanovic, Branko Karapandza and Boris Mutic. The late Mladen Mumelas and Boris Mutic, whose sporting excellence stayed permanently embedded into the Croatian and world Olympism, missed the new gathering. The event was attended by COC Vice Presidents Nada Sencar and Slavko Goluza, Morana Palikovic Gruden, member of the Council and Secretary General Josip Cop.
