IOC Trophy

The IOC Trophy is the highest annual prize of the International Olympic Committee awarded to individuals from National Olympic Committees for outstanding merit in various areas of sport and the Olympic movement. The IOC Trophy is awarded for a different area each year; the first Croatian eminent sports figure received one after the outright recognition of the Croatian Olympic Committee in 1993.

 

Winners of the IOC Trophy

Croatian Judo Federation - Project "Judo in schools" - At the initiative of the Croatian Judo Federation and supported by the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports, in 150 elementary schools - of total of 600 of them in Croatia with a gym for regular and out-of-curriculum sports activities - judo, Olympic sport that has proven - in the past couple of years - the outstanding international sports achievements, has been introduced.

Already as a student of the Academy of Fine Arts of in Zagreb, Ante Guberina, academic sculptor from Šibenik, participated with his work "Olympic chain" in artistic competition organized by the International Olympic Committee – the contest "Olympic Art & Sport 2000", held on the eve of the Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000.
