The President of Croatia, Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, awarded on December 5, 2016, the athletes and coaches – winners of medals at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
Ms. Grabar-Kitarović presented the award Red kneza Branimira (Order of Duke Branimir) to the gold rowing Olympians, brothers Valent and Martin Sinković (Double Sculls) and their coach Nikola Bralić, golden Olympian in Discus Throw Sandra Perković, silver Olympian in rowing discipline Single Sculls Damir Martin and bronze Olympian in High Jump Blanka Vlašić.
The award Red Danice Hrvatske (Order of the Croatian Morningstar) with figure of Franjo Bučar was presented to the golden Olympians, shooter Josip Glasnović (Trap), sailors Šime Fantela and Igor Marenić (470), athlete Sara Kolak (Javelin Throw); silver Olympians - sailor Tonči Stipanović (Laser), water polo players Mark Bijač, Luka Bukić, Luka Lončar, Antonio Petković, Anđelo Šetka, Javier Garcia Gadea, Ivan Krapić, Marko Macan and Sandro Sukno, bronze Olympian Filip Hrgović (Boxing) and bronze Olympian Blanka Vlašić's coach Bojan Marinović.
The award Red hrvatskog pletera (Order of the Croatian Trefoil) was awarded to the silver water polo players Damir Burić, Andro Bušlje, Maro Joković and Josip Pavić, Head Coach and coach of the Olympic Water Polo Team Ivica Tucak and Pero Kuterovac. e awards were also presented to the coaches of golden female athletes (Andrej Hajnšek and Edis Elkasević), golden sailors (Edo Fantela), silver medalist Tonči Stipanović (Jozo Jakelić), silver medalist Damir Martin (Srećko Šuk), and coaches of bronze medalists Filip Hrgović (Leonard Pijetraj) and Blanka Vlašić (Joško Vlašić).
