ZAGREB, 20 April 2010 – Today, the Croatian Olympic Committee (COC) signed an agreement with 154 athletes, beneficiaries of four COC development programs.

ZAGREB, 20 April 2010 – Today, the Croatian Olympic Committee (COC) signed an agreement with 154 athletes, beneficiaries of four COC development programs.
"The purpose of this is to provide systematic support to athletes all the way to their participation in top-level sporting events, the ultimate objective being the Olympic Games. The motive is to anticipate the departure of good junior athletes, who used to leave sport for various reasons before they even reached adult age groups", said COC Secretary General Josip Cop in his introductory presentation. He went on to say that the purpose of the program is the support and continuous care of athletes, as it is the COC's duty to provide all expert, technical, material and medical conditions for each athlete from the age of 12 on. The six development programs, which the COC currently has in place, include 319 athletes from 36 sports
