ZAGREB, 22 January 2010 – During a private visit to Sri Lanka, President of the Croatian Olympic Committee Zlatko Matesa accepted the invitation of his colleague Hemasiri Fernando, President of the Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka to visit him.

ZAGREB, 22 January 2010 – During a private visit to Sri Lanka, President of the Croatian Olympic Committee Zlatko Matesa accepted the invitation of his colleague Hemasiri Fernando, President of the Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka to visit him. They took this opportunity to sign a Sports Cooperation Agreement, which provides for an exchange of coaches and athletes, expertise, as well as knowledge on sports infrastructure. Both parties agreed to work together on the promotion of sport and friendship through programs of exchange of top athletes as ambassadors of sport. The President of the Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka expressed a wish to receive special help from the Croatian Olympic Committee regarding development of handball and training of coaches.
The two Presidents also discussed cooperation between continental Olympic organizations, as President Matesa is a member of the Executive Committee of the European Olympic Committees (EOC).
